You can trim tummy fat and lose weight by following some simple and easy weight loss tips.

    Eat healthily and you have already won half the battle.  Believe it or not, the way to lose belly fat is not by doing hundreds of abdominal crunches per day. Eating healthily and getting rid of junk foods will take you a step closer to your fat reduction goals. There are actually three advantages of following a healthy diet:

    A. Since your meals and snacks are pre-planned, there is no room to be tempted by unhealthy, ‘forbidden foods’!

    B. Healthy meals will boost your metabolic rate so that you will burn fat a lot faster than before!

    C. Healthy meals will help rid your body of all the toxins that have accumulated in your intestines due to years of eating junk food.

    What should you eat? That is a common question, and the answer is simple: you should eat raw fruits and vegetables. If you cannot eat raw vegetables, have them steamed or boiled, but stay away from the fried stuff! If you cook your own meals, try to regulate the amount of oil you use whilst cooking.

     Exercise to win the other half of the battle: Diet alone can help you lose weight, but it is a slow process. If you want to accelerate your weight loss process, you should exercise regularly.  There are several types of exercise out there, but not all of them are suitable for quick weight loss! If you want to get rid of your fat tummy quick, you must do ’specialized’ exercises such as compound exercises and cardio.

    The most effective cardio will boost your metabolism and burn fat both during and after your cardio session.  Interval training can do this for you, and it is also very time efficient!  Interval training can be done on a number of pieces of cardio equipment, including the rowing machine, the stationary bike or the treadmill.  Warm up for 4 or 5 minutes at an easy pace.  Once you have warmed up, go as hard as you can for a minute.  Once you have done this, continue at an easy pace for a further minute to recover.  Repeat this 4 or 5 times, and then cool down for 4 or 5 minutes.  This type of cardio training is much more effective for burning tummy fat than just running on the treadmill at the same pace, or “steady state cardio”.  This is because interval training has a profound effect on your metabolic rate, and will keep your system burning fat long after you have stopped training.  

    “Steady state cardio” is still useful, and can be fun, and should form a part of your exercise program.  Cardio can be as simple walking, running, jogging, etc. You can even do swimming and dancing. Any activity that involves your body as a whole and boosts your metabolic rate should help!

    Remember that weight loss will occur only when you burn off more calories than you consume. One pound of fat contains approximately 3,500 calories. Even if you burn only 500 calories per day, you will be able to lose 1 pound every week!
