Do you know your body is estimated to be about 60 to 70 % water? Are you surprised?
Your blood is mostly water and your muscles, lungs and brain all contain a lot of water. Your body needs water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all your organs. Water also transports oxygen to your cells, removes waste, and protects your joints and organs.
An easy trick to increase your water consumption is to carry a bottle of water with you everywhere. Keep a bottle of water on your desk at work, in your car, and especially at the gym. When it’s hot, try putting a couple ice cubes in your water bottle – it makes your water extra refreshing. A slice of lemon or lime is great too!
